Did anyone bring home there baby on o2 and a smart monitor?
My preemie just came home last week with oxygen (pretty low 1/4 most of the time then it goes up to 1/2 when he is eating) and a smart monitor. It is really stressful of 1 of the links on his belly comes off half way or is put on to high it goes off for no reason. But as a parent my heart stops every time. I mean it has its benefits I don't have to worry about him stopping breathing or his heart rate dropping without me knowing it. Just curious if anyone else had this with there baby? And how long was your baby on these things?
Thanks so much

One of my triplets came home with o2 and the smart monitor…
my doctor told me if I was holding my baby or watching him closely he didn't need to be on either.. but if I was to leave the room / night / and feedings she was to have them both on.
I knew I would get attached to my baby wearing the monitor so I took every chance I could to leave her off of it.. ( but this was per my doctor's approval )
When she was wearing the monitor I put a tight piece of fabric around her that had velcro on the front.. ( almost like the fetal monitor bands from the hospital ) I found that helped hold it in place and we didn't get false alarms in the middle of the night waking the other babies..
She was only on it a few weeks.. but it took a little bit longer for me to take it off her at nights.. I was just too scared!!
Best wishes with your little man.

My grandson came home with oxygen and a smart monitor because he had many health issues. He was on them for 2 months after he got home. Yes as a parent when ever the monitor goes off mom's hold their breath but then things calm down. Your baby is adorable. My grandson I think he found ways to set off his monitor. He did in the hospital. I think he figure out everyone come running when their monitors goes off.

My twins did not come home on them, however my son got really sick at 6 weeks and was in the ICU for about 3 months. He then came home with one. He had apnea really bad. I know how you feel. Your heart stops every time it goes off, but thankfully it is usually just him moving or something.
My son required the oxygen for about 2 months. He still uses the monitor at night though because he still has apnea. (He is now 21 months old) I am not saying that your son will have one for that long because chances are in a few weeks he probably won't.
God bless you and your sweet baby!
